Ordeal Service Patch

The Lodge Executive Committee, at its October 11, 2002 meeting, approved a new segmented back patch for Ordeal Service. The patch will form an 8 inch circle when the three segments are combined. Beginning with service at the November 2002 Ordeal, members, after completion of service three times in an area, will be authorized to purchase the related segment of the patch for $3.00. The three segments represent service in the following areas:

• Native American - Upper Segment - Service during an ordeal in the Native American aspects of an ordeal, including Ceremonies, Dance Demonstrations for Candidates and support personnel for these activities.
   
• Elangomat - Lower Left Segment - Serve as an elangomat or assistant elangomat during an ordeal.
  
  
• Lodge Service - Lower Right Segment - Service during an ordeal in Ordeal Support Activities. This includes registration, food service, trading post, snack bar, logistical support for candidates, etc.
  

Members need to be sure that the Ordeal Warrior or his designated representative has a record of your service prior to departure from each ordeal. The complete patch can be assembled after rendering the required service over a period of 9 ordeals.
